He earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, New York, and went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Mount Sinai Medical School.

As a Founding Partner of Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey (RMA NJ), Dr. Drews has played an important role in advancing fertility care in the region. He also serves as Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, helping educate and mentor future physicians in the specialty.

Dr. Drews’ dedication to both innovation and patient care has earned him numerous accolades throughout his career. He has been recognized as a 2026 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, named among New Jersey Monthly Magazine Top Docs from 2007–2012, and honored with awards including the Purdue Frederick Award from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Member Prize Paper Award from the American Fertility Society, RESOLVE of New Jersey’s Zenith Award, The American Fertility Association’s Family Building Award, and the 2025 NJBIZ ICON Honors Award.
