Dr. Paul Kovatis is celebrating yet another year as an “NJ Top Doc”!

At OSSMC, Dr. Kovatis treats all surgical and non-surgical disorders of the leg, ankle and foot. He also specializes in general Orthopedics and Traumatic Injuries to the entire Musculoskeletal System; excluding the Spine.

Dr. Paul Kovatis completed his orthopedic leg, ankle and foot fellowship training at the Hospital of Special Surgery in New York City. He is one of very few orthopedic surgeon (MD’s) who concentrate on this subspecialty.

Dr. Kovatis performed the first total ankle replacement at HackensackUMC in May of 2013 and continues to have the highest surgical volume and quality and safety results in this specific orthopedic subspecialty.

He currently serves at the Chairman of the Medical Board, overseeing the administrative policies and procedures of over 1500 physicians at HackensackUMC and also serves on the institution’s Board of Governors, Board of Trustees and is the Chairman of the Quality and Patient Safety Committee of the governing Board of the Medical Center. He also serves as an orthopedic consultant to the new Wellness Center affiliated with HackensackUMC and is the Co-Chair of the Division of Orthopedics Foot and Ankle and involved in the formation of the new Orthopedics Institute at Hackensack.

Dr. Kovatis’ publications and editorials have been published in local, national and international press.
