Dr. Nicole Henry-Dindial of Summit Health – Westfield Family Practice has been reviewed and approved by NJ Top Docs based on merit for 2026. Family medicine has always been about more than treating illness for Dr. Nicole Henry-Dindial. Throughout more than 29 years in practice, she has built her career around caring for patients at every stage of life while advocating for physicians, mentoring future healthcare leaders, and working to improve the delivery of healthcare across New Jersey.
Dr. Henry-Dindial provides comprehensive, integrated care for patients from newborn through geriatric at Summit Health’s Westfield Family Practice. She also serves as Medical Director of Health Policy and Physician Advocacy at Summit Health, where she combines her passion for patient care with efforts to shape healthcare policy and support physicians throughout the organization.
Before joining Summit Health in 2012, Dr. Henry-Dindial practiced with Paramount Medical Group/Westfield Family Practice and Millburn Family Practice, and co-founded Springfield Family Practice. She also served on the faculty of the Overlook Family Medicine Residency Program in Summit, a role that reflects her longstanding commitment to educating the next generation of family physicians.
Teaching has remained a constant throughout her career. Dr. Henry-Dindial is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–New Jersey Medical School, where she has helped educate first- and third-year medical students. She continues to mentor residents, medical students, and newly practicing physicians through her work as a volunteer preceptor and faculty mentor. Her dedication to education extends to mentoring students from her alma mater, the City University of New York Medical School, formerly known as The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education.
A respected leader in organized medicine, Dr. Henry-Dindial has devoted countless hours to advocating for both patients and physicians at the state and national levels. In 2026, she became the 234th President of the Medical Society of New Jersey, making history as the organization’s first Indo-Caribbean president. She also serves on the Society’s Board of Trustees, is a member of the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, and represents New Jersey as a Delegate to the American Medical Association. At the AMA, she is Co-Chair of the Women’s Physician Section standing committee GRROWL, an initiative dedicated to expanding leadership opportunities for women in medicine. She also contributes to the Women Physicians Leadership Academy, helping develop educational programming that empowers women physicians to grow as leaders.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Henry-Dindial remains deeply involved in her local community. She serves as Secretary of the Department of Family Medicine at Atlantic Health System’s Overlook Medical Center and is a member of its Medical Care Review Committee. She has also dedicated more than two decades of service to her parish, the Church of the Little Flower in Berkeley Heights, where she has volunteered in numerous ministries and currently serves as both a lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Whether she is caring for families in the exam room, advocating for physicians across New Jersey, or mentoring the next generation of medical professionals, Dr. Henry-Dindial remains committed to making a meaningful difference. Her career reflects a belief that exceptional medicine begins with compassion, trust, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
