September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

prpic

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month- a time to honor and remember children and families affected by these rare diseases, and aid gathering support to give kids with cancer better outcomes by supporting our groundbreaking research.

During the month of September:

  • 25,000 families around the world will get the horrible news that their child or teen has cancer.
  • 6,667 families will experience the loss of a child.

80 percent of childhood cancer cases can be effectively treated. At Children’s Cancer Research Fund, they’re working every day to fund lifesaving research that leads to a cure. More and more children are being detected with cancer today than ever before. It’s time to change that by helping to make a difference!

Social Media- #GoGold

Let’s help spread the word on social media with #GoGold all month long. The average person has about 156 Facebook friends. If each of Children’s Cancer Research Fund’s Facebook followers shared a childhood cancer statistic, fact or story, over 9 million people could learn about this devastating disease.

The Children’s Cancer research Fund would like us to help  spread the word by sharing a statistic, story, or photo on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram and tag them using @ChildrensCancer and the hashtag, #GoGold.

Major League Baseball

Major League Baseball is going gold for kids this September! During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Minnesota Twins will honor kids and families affected by cancer and feature Children’s Cancer Research Fund during pre-game activities on the field.
