Dr. Kovatis then went to the Hospital for Special Surgery for additional orthopaedic training in the leg, ankle and foot and is one of only a handful of medical doctors (MD’s) who perform this subspecialty in North Jersey.

Dr. Kovatis is a professional leader in the community. He is the incoming President of the Medical Staff and Hackensack University Medical Center where he holds full privileges and is the only private practioner serving on the Board of Governors at that institution. Dr. Kovatis is also the Past President of the Bergen County Medical Society and serves on numerous committees that promote quality healthcare, delivery and resolve conflicts within the profession.
