Dr. Javier I Torrens of the Center for Endocrine Health Named NJ Top Doc

NJ Top Docs has reviewed and approved Javier I. Torréns, MD, FACP of the Center For Endocrine Health for 2019. Dr. Torrens specializes in Endocrinology and practices in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Dr. Torréns received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a medical student. He then completed his Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. 

After a highly decorated and distinguished career at Walter Reed as Director of the Diabetes Education Program, Subject Matter Expert on Diabetes to the Endocrinology Consultant for the Surgeon General of the US Army, and Chief of Medicine of the 85th Combat General Hospital, Dr. Torréns joined the faculty at New Jersey Medical School. During his stay there, he established the Latino Diabetes Education Center, was co-investigator in the Women’s Health Initiative, the Study of Women’s Health Across the nation, and did research at Rockefeller University on fat cell biology and leptin regulation.
