About Us

At the Center for Endocrine Health, our mission is provide academic quality medicine in the community setting through a multidisciplinary approach to disease management.

Our approach is an individualized integrated health care experience that concentrates on healthy living, disease management/prevention and behavior modification.

Our Doctor

Javier I. Torréns, MD, FACP

Dr. Torréns received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as a medical student. He completed his Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. After a highly decorated and distinguished career at Walter Reed as Director of the Diabetes Education Program, Subject Matter Expert on Diabetes to the Endocrinology Consultant for the Surgeon General of the US Army, and Chief of Medicine of the 85th Combat General Hospital, he joined the faculty at New Jersey Medical School. During his stay there, he established the Latino Diabetes Education Center, was co-investigator in the Women’s Health Initiative, the Study of Women’s Health Across the nation, and did research at Rockefeller University on fat cell biology and leptin regulation. After a successful academic career, he joined Hunterdon Healthcare. Dr. Torréns is fluent in Spanish.
