After completing his fellowship, Dr. Zaatreh was recruited by the University of North Carolina to develop an Epilepsy Surgery Program. During his academic career he served as assistant professor of Neurology and Medical Director of the Epilepsy Surgery Center at the University of North Carolina for three years. In addition, Dr. Zaatreh has published multiple research articles in peer-reviewed medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Neurology and Epilepsia.
