Dr. Vitolo is board certified in orthopedic surgery and has an orthopedic surgery subspecialty in Sports Medicine. He has hospital privileges at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Surgery Center of Northwest Jersey, and Specialty Surgery Center. Dr. Vitolo also has memberships at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the New Jersey Orthopedic Society.

Dr. Vitolo was team physician for the Boston Red Sox from 1990 – 1994. He was team physician for the New Jersey Cardinals (Single A Baseball League) from 1996 – 2005. He was also team physician for the Sussex Skyhawks (Canadian-American Baseball League) 2006 – 2009. From 2008 – present, Dr. Vitolo has been the team physician for Sussex County Community College.
