Using Research & Evidence to Transform Health Care in Contemporary Society (Posted on the Kean Current Fall 2012)

Kean University will host the inaugural Center for Nursing Research Summit, Using Research and Evidence to Transform Health Care in a Contemporary Society, on Friday, October 19th, from 9am to 4:30m.

Dr. Jane Barnsteiner, RN, FAAN, professor of pediatric nursing and clinician educator at the University of Pennsylvania will provide the keynote address on evidence-based practice. In addition, faculty from across the United States are presenting at the summit, where unique breakout sessions and research poster presentations will be showcased.

The overall purpose of this conference is to enhance knowledge regarding original research, evidence-based practice strategies and global initiatives to improve the quality of health care.  This scholarly event will not only examine trends in nursing research and education, but explore innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to improve overall well-being and quality of life.  Discussions are intended to promote curriculum development that will advance nursing science, research and health-care.  Participants will learn to identify opportunities to create a culture of safety through academic and clinical partnerships and integrate current evidence to support individuals across the lifespan..
