Dr. Paul Abend, founder of Sanãre Center for Integrative Medicine, has been reviewed and approved as a 2024 NJ Top Doc. NJ Top Docs recognizes Dr. Abend’s innovative approach to patient care, combining conventional and alternative therapies to treat the whole person.

A graduate of Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Abend trained as Chief Resident in both physical medicine/rehabilitation and family medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He also completed a sports medicine fellowship focused on cutting-edge treatments for athletic injuries.
Dr. Abend’s pioneering work in autism spectrum disorder has garnered multiple distinguished alumni awards from Rowan and Drew University, as well as the Dr. Margaret Bauman Award from Harvard Medical School. In 2011, he received the prestigious Jefferson Award for public service in New Jersey.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Abend serves on the board of the Rutgers-RWJ/St. Barnabas Accountable Care Organization and as president of Union County Surgical Center. His insights have established him as an authority on integrative medicine’s powerful potential.
