Dr. Mahmood’s academic journey began at Rutgers University, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He went on to obtain his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, before completing his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary diseases at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Further refining his expertise, Dr. Mahmood completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Mahmood is a dedicated educator and is well-regarded within the academic community. He serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College and holds faculty positions at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, St. George’s University School of Medicine, and Seton Hall-Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. His passion for teaching is also reflected in his role as a core teaching faculty member for the internal medicine residency programs at St. Mary’s General Hospital and St. Clare’s Hospital, both part of the New York Medical College program.

Dr. Mahmood’s approach to patient care is both cutting-edge and patient-centered, focusing on collaboration with other healthcare providers to create seamless, effective treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. His leadership extends to his roles as the Chair of Medicine at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, NJ, and as the medical director for Kindred East Hospital in Passaic, NJ, where he continues to shape the direction of medical care and patient outcomes.
