Dr. Mazzola is a skilled pediatric neurosurgeon, certified by both the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. After completing her Pediatric Neurosurgical Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 2002, she honed her expertise during her neurosurgery residency at New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Mazzola is the founder of several specialized programs at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, including the Craniofacial Program, the Pediatric Brain and Spinal Tumor Program, and the Movement Disorders Center for Children. Her leadership extends beyond her clinical practice, with roles on the Executive Committees of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies. Dr. Mazzola also served as Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee for the AANS/CNS Pediatric Neurosurgery Section and chaired both the Medicolegal and Ethics Committees for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
As a committed advocate for her field, Dr. Mazzola is actively involved in various medical societies, serving on the Boards of the Morris County Medical Society and the Medical Society of New Jersey. In addition to her clinical work, she holds an adjunct appointment and conducts research at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
Dr. Mazzola founded her own practice in 2009, following a few years of hospital-based work and time spent with Atlantic Neurosurgical Specialists. Her dedication to pediatric neurosurgery has earned her recognition as one of the top neurosurgeons in New Jersey and across the United States.
In a continued pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Mazzola is currently a second-year law student at Rutgers Law School in Newark, further expanding her expertise to advocate for her patients in new and impactful ways.
