Scotch Plains – April 2013 Dr. Stephen Ocken, NJ Top Doc, joined Cardiology Associates of Somerset County in 1983. He is an Attending Physician at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. He was the Director of the Department of Medicine from 1992 thru 1994, as well as Chief of Cardiology from 1998 thru 2000 at Somerset Medical Center. He also served on the Medical Executive Committee from 1994 thru 1996. Dr. Ocken completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, NY where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. He earned his Medical Degree in 1977 at The State University of New York’s Health Science Center at Brooklyn (Downstate Medical Center), where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Ocken did research work on Calcium-channel blockers in hypertension and in patients with systemic sclerosis at Albert Einstein.   “Making Little Miracles Come True” IVF New Jersey is now offering a program at a minimal cost to patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. Those patients will be receiving treatment for cancer that could unfavorably affect their future fertility. This program could allow women to freeze their viable eggs, or embryos (fertilized eggs) if they have a male partner, prior to cancer treatment in order to help preserve their fertility and ability to have a successful future pregnancy.
