NJ Top Dentists has recently reviewed and approved George J. Schmidt DMD, FAGD, FICOI of The Advanced Dental Center of Cedar Knolls for 2019. As a postgraduate, Dr. Schmidt completed a three year continuum in the surgical placement of dental implants at the NYU College of Dentistry and then remained on staff as a clinical associate for an additional year. While at NYU his studies included advanced bone grafting techniques as well as state of the art computer guided implant surgery. He has been awarded fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the International Dental Implant Association
In addition to working at his private practice, Dr. Schmidt holds two appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, one in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and one in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU College of Dental Medicine where he teaches surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. In addition, Dr. Schmidt is on the staff of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center as an attending dentist. His responsibilities include supervising patient care as well teaching and mentoring dentists, dental students, and residents.
Dr. Schmidt has completed well over a thousand hours of post graduate education in fields such as Implant dentistry, root canal therapy, oral surgery, TMJ therapy, gum diseases, cosmetic and esthetic dentistry, and orthodontics, to name a few. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the Tri-County Dental Society, The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Dental Implant Association.
