The Pediatric Center
The Pediatric Center is a team of highly skilled health care professionals providing the most advanced pediatric and adolescent care from birth to young adult. Their large, state-of-the-art office offers many on-site benefits including a full-service lab, designated sick and well-visit exam rooms, scheduling protocols that support social distancing, and virtual free prenatal and new mom classes. Open 365 days a year (including holidays), the practice is devoted to the individual needs of each child, in a warm and caring environment.

Steven Moskowitz, MD, FAAP
Dr. Moskowitz opened The Pediatric Center in April, 1994. He is a board certified pediatrician, in private practice in Union County since 1988. Dr. Moskowitz completed his residency training at Overlook Hospital, a teaching affiliate of Columbia University, New York, and was promoted to Chief Resident of Pediatrics. Dr. Moskowitz worked as a neonatal associate at Saint Barnabas Medical Center where he was responsible for the care of premature infants in the ICU.
An award-winning pediatrician, Dr. Moskowitz has special interests in asthma and dermatology. He lives in Essex County with his wife and three children.

Kathleen L. Chin, MD, FAAP
Dr. Chin joined The Pediatric Center in 1998. She completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After residency, she moved back to New Jersey to practice general pediatrics. Dr. Chin received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. There, she was the recipient of the Waldo E. Nelson Prize, for the outstanding graduate in Pediatric Medicine and was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha, Honor Medical Society. Dr. Chin received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, College of Pharmacy, graduating with high honors and inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society. She was a licensed registered pharmacist in the State of New Jersey from 1991-1997.
Dr. Chin is Board Certified in Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Chin has a special interest in childhood development, children with special needs and general pediatrics. She resides in Morris County and is the proud aunt to three nephews and one niece.

Denise Visci, MD FAAP
Dr. Visci joined The Pediatric Center in 1998. She had previously held positions at the Public Health Service in Trenton HIP in Mountainside, New Jersey. She also practiced general pediatrics in North Carolina prior to moving back to New Jersey.
Dr. Visci completed her undergraduate studies at St. John’s University in New York. She completed her medical degree at the Ponce School of Medicine, in Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. She completed her pediatric residency training at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey.
Dr. Visci is board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pedaitics. Dr. Visci has a particular interest in nutrition and general pediatrics. She resides in Morris County with her husband, who is also a pediatrician, and her two daughters.

The Pediatric Center continues to follow all CDC guidelines, including adhering to the safest practices for keeping patients protected and healthy. They offer in-house Covid-19 testing and vaccines in addition to screenings, flu shots, urgent care, well visits, concussion testing, and mental health support. On-site services include an in-house lab, Lactation Support Center, Teen Center, free virtual prenatal classes and new mom support group.

All of the staff- secretary, nurse, lactation consultant, and MD were incredibly professional, warm, considerate, respectful, and knowledgeable, I am one of those patients who needs a lot of information and does not take everything at face value – so medical professionals are usually taken aback by my questioning and skepticism. The staff at this practice were patient and respectful of my questions and I felt they truly cared about my baby. The MD was great- detail-oriented and spent the time to explain everything to me. The lactation consultant was far more helpful than the FIVE I had consulted with beforehand. Exceptional.

The Pediatric Center’s exceptional doctors are also great listeners. With three children, wo of whom have special needs, my boys’ neurologist sends all the reports to them, so when we go for our visit, they are alrady familiar with what’s going on. My daughter had a rough first few years after being sick with RSV. Dr. Chin was wonderful and proactive at handling anything my little girl would catch. She’s amazing, and I am so thankful to have her as my children’s pediatrician!
The Pediatric Center has been my kids’ pediatricians since they were toddlers. My kids will still call on him for medical care or just advice, even though my oldest is 27 and my youngest 22. This reflects the tremendous trust and confidence they have in Dr. Moskowitz and his staff and their comfort with confiding in them. Dr. Moskowitz has a knack for relating to kids, his door is always open, and he really cares for his patients.
