Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ) is an integrated group practice comprised of a team of highly skilled gastroenterologists. As part of our dedication to complete care, our board certified physicians and professional staff will effectively evaluate, diagnose and treat acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions and diseases.
With locations throughout northern & central New Jersey, our multidisciplinary practice offers coordinated and comprehensive services with an emphasis on personalized care for patients of all ages and activity levels. In addition, our practice is affiliated with five ambulatory surgery centers where our advanced procedures are performed in a warm, comfortable environment on an outpatient basis.

Andrew Boxer, MD
Dr. Andrew S. Boxer is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
David M. Pinn, MD
Dr. David M. Pinn is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey and double board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Pinn has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has given lectures and presentations on a broad range of gastroenterology and hepatology topics. He is a member of several gastroenterology societies.
Ori A. Rackovsky, MD
Dr. Ori Rackovsky carries dual board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Rackovsky’s work in liver fibrosis and inflammatory bowel disease has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at local, national, and international conferences.
Frank Ruiz, MD
Dr. Frank Ruiz is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey.
Joseph G. Shami, MD
Dr. Joseph G. Shami has a clinical focus on performing high resolution esophageal manometry, pH testing and Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication or TIF.
During his time with GANJ, Dr. Shami was also Emeritus Chief for the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, totaling 14 years overall in the position. He was also a clinical assistant professor at the School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, for 20 years.
Dr. Shami is fluent in English and Italian, as well as proficient in Spanish and Arabic.
