Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ) is an integrated group practice comprised of a team of highly skilled gastroenterologists. As part of our dedication to complete care, our board certified physicians and professional staff will effectively evaluate, diagnose and treat acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions and diseases.
With locations throughout northern & central New Jersey, our multidisciplinary practice offers coordinated and comprehensive services with an emphasis on personalized care for patients of all ages and activity levels. In addition, our practice is affiliated with five ambulatory surgery centers where our advanced procedures are performed in a warm, comfortable environment on an outpatient basis.

Peter Caride, MD
Dr. Peter Caride was born and raised in Hudson County, NJ, and has served the North Hudson and Bergen County area for nearly three decades. Dr. Caride is an advocate for state-of-the-art health care, particularly when it comes to advancing health care for the Latino population. Prior to joining GANJ, Dr. Caride was in private practice in New Jersey for 27 years. The son of Cuban immigrants, Dr. Caride is fluent in Spanish and is particularly interested in serving the needs of the Latino community.
John Sotiriadis, MD, PhD
Dr. John Sotiriadis is committed to improving the health of his patients using the most modern approaches and advanced treatments in gastroenterology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sotiriadis has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has given lectures and presentations on a broad range of gastroenterology and hepatology topics.
Working with the entire team here at GANJ, Dr. Sotiriadis provide patients with a holistic and patient-centered approach to ensure that patients receive the best care in gastroenterology.

Smrita Sinha, MD
Dr. Smrita Sinha brings a warm, patient-centered approach to her practice, with a passion for helping each person improve their overall health and quality of life. She specializes in a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD (acid reflux), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, liver disorders, and GI cancers. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Hindi, Dr. Sinha offers personalized care that reflects the diversity of the community she serves. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: “no patient problem is too big or too small.” She treats every patient with the same attention and empathy she would give to a family member.
Before joining GANJ, Dr. Sinha practiced at Northern Medical Group in Fishkill, NY. She also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where she mentored GI fellows, expanded access to care through a growing GI clinic, and contributed to research in pancreatic cancer. She also refined her expertise in a broad array of endoscopic procedures during her time there.
Dr. Sinha completed her gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, her internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and her internship at Stanford Hospital. She earned her MD from Weill Cornell Medical College, graduating at the top of her class and being inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She also pursued neurobiology research during medical school and holds a dual bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and chemistry from Cornell University.
A committed academic and researcher, Dr. Sinha has published in respected journals including The Journal of Biological Chemistry, Cancer Research, and Digestive Disease Week.
