Here at EyeCare Consultants of NJ (ECC-NJ), recently renamed after 45 years and co-founded by Drs. Swati and Jai Parekh, we aim to please our patients and take them through their journey of EyeCare! With our array of eye doctors and their specialties, your eyes are our only focus!
Our practice is fully dedicated to your eyes, your vision, your eye health, and your eye disease; whether healthy routine eye exams, refractive errors (contacts lenses and, yes, we have our own advanced “Vision Center”), dry eyes, ocular allergies, ocular surface disease, glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes of the eye, or macular degeneration, we have all of your customer-focused solutions. Our doctors are board-certified, cutting-edge eye surgeons, specialists, and comprehensive eye care professionals here to make your journey as easy and simple as possible; we aim to use minimally-invasive techniques with quicker recovery times.
Our experienced eye surgeons are affiliated with excellent healthcare systems, same-day surgical centers, and universities. We accept most, if not all, insurance plans, and gladly see folks from ages 5 to 105! Our physicians are locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally well-known!
Come see us at our newly built and modern northern office, in Woodland Park, NJ, (less than two miles from the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, off of Rt 46); the office is state-of-the-art with all diagnostic tools and technology to aid in your journey–our staff is broadly multi-lingual and there to greet you with a smile! Dr. Swati J. Parekh
Swati J. Parekh, MD, FAAO, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, co-founder of EyeCare Consultants of NJ (ECC-NJ) and is Chairwoman of the Ophthalmology Department at St. Joseph’s Health, NJ.
She is a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon and formerly served as Vice-Chairwoman of Ophthalmology at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, NJ. Swati has been practicing Comprehensive & Surgical Ophthalmology for nearly two decades at the hospital as well as in private practice at the former Brar-Parekh Eye Associates; she also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the New York Medical College, NY.
Her interests include comprehensive & surgical ophthalmology, women’s eye issues, population health, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, and ocular surface.
Dr. Jai Parekh
He is co-founder of the newly named EyeCare Consultants of NJ, a 45-year old comprehensive eye care practice in northern and central NJ, as well as Chief of Cornea, External Diseases, Medical Director of the Research Institute at St. Joseph’s Health. He is also a founder of the Center for Ocular Surface Excellence of New Jersey (COSE-NJ), a center dedicated in a team-approach to the field of ocular surface diseases including dry eye, blepharitis, ocular allergies, and contact-lens overwear syndrome.
Dr. Parekh co-founded and was chosen to be on the Board of Directors for the Society of Academic Medicine, the Vanguard Ophthalmic Society, the American-European College of Ophthalmic Surgery, CEDARS-ASPENS Alliance, he has served on the Editorial Board of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today. Dr. Parekh’s interests include the ocular surface, complex cataract surgery and innovation, drug delivery, practice/disease management, integrated eyecare, business development, strategy, entrepreneurship, and medical philanthropy.
Dr Parekh has travelled the world in Panama, Canada, much of Europe, Dubai, China, India, Singapore, the Philippines, and even South Korea to educate, lecture, and participate in an exchange of ideas in cataract and corneal surgery. He has led eye surgical camps to help serve the less privileged as well.
Dr Parekh is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, ASCRS, the Cornea Society & ARVO.
At the Center for Ocular Surface Excellence of NJ and as a big part of EyeCare Consultants of NJ, we have the only center in New Jersey focused solely on the treatment of your ocular surface, including dry eyes. We employ all necessary testing (dry eyes, ocular allergy, inflammation) and therapies needed to improve your ocular surface health.
