Dr. Joseph G. Shami
Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ) is the premier gastroenterology practice, spanning across four counties in northern New Jersey and providing compassionate care to patients. Dr. Joseph G. Shami
Dr. Joseph G. Shami is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Associates of New Jersey (GANJ). He is dual board certified in internal medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
In addition to his position at GANJ, Dr. Shami is a trustee at IPA of North Jersey at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ as well as Director of the Esophageal Motility Lab. He is also a clinical assistant professor at the School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ.
During some of his time with GANJ, Dr. Shami was also Emeritus Chief for the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, totaling 14 years overall in the position. Dr. Shami is also multilingual, with fluency in English and Italian and the ability to speak fully in Spanish and Arabic.
