The mission of Coastal Spine is to end chronic pain and help patients return to normal health and activity. We are a team of Orthopedic Spine Surgeons, Neurosurgeons and Pain Management Specialists offering minimally invasive solutions to neck and back pain.

James Moran, DO
James Moran, DO, is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist at Coastal Spine, serving patients across multiple New Jersey locations. He focuses on non-surgical care for adult spine disorders, creating individualized treatment plans through comprehensive evaluations that include detailed histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies. With more than two decades of experience, Dr. Moran is also highly skilled in interventional pain management, including both diagnostic and therapeutic spinal injections.
Dr. Moran earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–School of Osteopathic Medicine, now part of Rowan University. He completed his residency at Temple University Hospital and a fellowship in interventional spine techniques and pain management at MidAtlantic Spine in Wilmington, Delaware. A former course instructor for the University of Delaware’s Department of Physical Therapy, Dr. Moran has been repeatedly recognized as a “Top Doc” by his peers and is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
