Originally from the North Shore of Long Island, Dr. Tobin earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell University before receiving his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. During medical school, he earned regional and national recognition for his research on prostate cancer.

Dr. Tobin completed his General Surgery and Urology training at Harvard, where he continued to distinguish himself through groundbreaking research on the urothelium, the specialized cells lining the urinary tract. His work earned local and national recognition, and he was invited to personally present his research at a National Institutes of Health conference. During his training at Harvard, he also completed a combined clinical and research fellowship in pediatric urology.

After completing his training in 1996, Dr. Tobin moved to New Jersey, where he established a practice focused on both adult and pediatric urology. He went on to co-found Atlantic Coast Urology.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Tobin has held numerous leadership positions at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He currently serves as Chairman of the Division of Urology and has previously served as Chief of Pediatric Urology and Director of Urologic Oncology. Dr. Tobin also played an instrumental role in developing the hospital’s urology residency program, helping to support the education and training of the next generation of urologists.

Dr. Tobin’s combination of advanced clinical training, research experience, and medical leadership allows him to provide knowledgeable, comprehensive care to patients across a wide range of urologic conditions.
