Amor Mehta MD – Neurology Center for Epilepsy and Seizures focuses on epilepsy and seizure disorders for adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Mehta is one of only a few board certified epilepsy specialists in NJ and is developing a unique epilepsy focused practice that will provide a comprehensive epilepsy service for all patients beyond what is expected from a traditional physician’s office.
Dr. Mehta believes that “Quality of life is everything!” In this regard, Dr. Mehta’s practice will serve as the coordinator of care to help patients and families get through the difficulties of diagnostic testing, acceptance of the diagnosis and for whatever psychosocial aspects that may contribute most to poor quality of life. Dr. Mehta does not want his patients to feel alone and is changing the model of community based outpatient epilepsy care to be more comprehensive for the patient and more convenient for the patient.
Amor R. Mehta, MD
Dr. Amor R. Mehta is an adult and pediatric epileptologist as well as an adult neurologist. He is one of the few epilepsy specialists in New Jersey with board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology and in Epilepsy. He is proficient in managing both adult and pediatric epilepsy and seizure disorders and is an expert in video EEG monitoring, epilepsy surgery planning, usage of antiepileptic drugs and the management of status epilepticus.
Dr. Mehta received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in the Neuroscience of Communications. In 2007, he was awarded his M.D. from New York Medical College. Dr. Mehta completed his internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry – New Jersey Medical School in 2008 and his neurology residency at New York University School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his clinical neurophysiology fellowship at New York University in 2012 and completed an optional year of fellowship training in adult and pediatric epilepsy.
Dr. Mehta served as the founding Medical Director of The Adult and Pediatric Epilepsy Center and Video EEG Monitoring at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ, that became accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers as a Level 3 Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, providing the most advanced epilepsy care locally, under his leadership. After working as a senior partner at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery at St. Barnabas in collaboration with Shore Neurology, PA in Toms River, Dr. Mehta left in order to pursue his dream of improving the model of outpatient community based comprehensive epilepsy care for all New Jerseyans.
He accepts all patients of any age with possible seizures or known seizure disorders.
