John Cho, MD
Dr. John Cho is the medical director at Alliance Orthopedics in Matawan, NJ, specializing in interventional pain management. Board-certified in anesthesiology with a subspecialty in pain management, he provides advanced minimally invasive treatments for acute and chronic pain, particularly focusing on neck and back disorders.
Dr. Cho earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed an internship at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and a fellowship in pain management at Mount Sinai Morningside. He is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and licensed in both New Jersey and New York.

Ammar Saymeh, DPM
Dr. Ammar Saymeh, DPM, is the Director of Lower Extremity Services at Alliance Orthopedics, with locations in Old Bridge, East Brunswick, and Freehold, NJ. He treats patients of all ages, specializing in minimally invasive procedures for conditions like Achilles tendon injuries, ankle sprains, bunions, hammertoes, flatfoot deformities, and post-traumatic arthritis.
Dr. Saymeh holds a Bachelor’s in Biology from Rutgers University and a medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at Cooper University Hospital. Board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Saymeh has also received advanced training in minimally invasive and total ankle replacement techniques. He actively teaches and participates in conferences to stay at the forefront of his field.

Vishal Khatri, MD
Dr. Khatri is an orthopedic spine surgeon with expertise in both simple and complex spinal procedures. He began his career at the Cooper Bone & Joint Institute, part of Cooper University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center affiliated with MD Anderson Cancer Center. His specialties include degenerative spinal conditions, minimally invasive spine surgery, sports-related spine injuries, spinal tumors, traumatic spine injuries, and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS).
Dr. Khatri graduated summa cum laude from The George Washington University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and went on to earn his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at Temple University Hospital, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital, where he was chief resident. He finished his fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Dr. Khatri has published extensively on spinal conditions and is an active member of several professional societies, including AO Spine, the North American Spine Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society.

Arun Rajaram, MD
Dr. Arun Rajaram is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder at Alliance Orthopedics. He treats patients of all ages, from children to adults, with a focus on joint procedures, ACL and ligament reconstruction, meniscal repairs, and rotator cuff and shoulder surgeries.
Dr. Rajaram completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Yale University and further specialized in orthopedic sports medicine through a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center. During his fellowship, he served as assistant team physician for the Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros, and Dynamo. He earned his medical degree and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from The George Washington University.

James Chang, MD
Dr. James Chang is an interventional pain management physician at Alliance Orthopedics in Matawan, NJ. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as pain medicine.
Dr. Chang earned his Bachelor of Science in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University and his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Drexel University’s Saint Peter’s University Hospital, followed by a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at NYU Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in musculoskeletal medicine and interventional pain management at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Before joining Alliance Orthopedics, Dr. Chang was the medical director at Monmouth Pain & Rehabilitation Center and later opened his own practice, JKC Pain Mgt LLC. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey and is a member of the New Jersey Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Chang is a diplomate of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

Mehul Shah, DO, MPH
Dr. Mehul Shah is a pain management physician at Alliance Orthopedics, specializing in a comprehensive, multimodal approach to pain care.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Shah graduated with honors from Boston University, earning a degree in biology/neuroscience. He went on to attend Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he ranked in the top ten of his class and earned a Master of Public Health degree. Dr. Shah completed his anesthesiology residency and interventional pain management fellowship at Tufts University/Baystate Medical Center.
Board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with specialized certification in pain medicine, Dr. Shah uses advanced interventional techniques alongside osteopathic methods to treat a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, diabetic neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome, chronic knee and hip pain, and neuromodulation.

Andrew Sim, MD

A National Merit Scholar, Dr. Sim graduated from New York University with a degree in clinical psychology and the Henry M. Baird Scholarship. He earned his medical degree cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine before completing an anesthesiology residency at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Sim then specialized in interventional pain management at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

Maybelle Maningat, DPM
Dr. Maybelle Maningat is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon specializing in reconstructive surgery, trauma, deformity correction, and minimally invasive procedures. She treats a wide range of conditions, including sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, and provides revision surgery. Dr. Maningat is dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate care to patients of all ages and activity levels, while staying current with the latest advancements in foot and ankle medicine.
A former competitive dancer, Dr. Maningat has a deep understanding of the biomechanics and lower extremity stability required for dancers. She collaborates with other specialists to promote quicker recovery, and values conservative treatments before considering surgery.
Dr. Maningat earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology from Syracuse University, graduating cum laude, before earning her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, where she was a member of Pi Delta National Honor Society. She completed a three-year residency at CarePoint Health in New Jersey, focusing on reconstructive surgery and trauma of the foot and ankle.

Michael Thomas, DPM, FACFAS, DABPM
Dr. Michael Thomas is a compassionate podiatric surgeon at Alliance Orthopedics, known for his patient-centered approach and commitment to individualized care. He treats every patient like family, tailoring care plans to meet their unique goals through shared decision-making and a multidisciplinary approach.
Dr. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology, along with minors in Business and History, from New Jersey Institute of Technology, followed by a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. After completing his internship and residency at Inspira Health Network, Dr. Thomas further honed his expertise with a one-year Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, focusing on deformity correction and orthoplastics.
His clinical expertise includes sports medicine, minimally invasive surgery, foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, joint arthrodesis, deformity correction, limb salvage, and total ankle replacements. He also advocates for conservative treatments and the management of infections in foot and ankle structures. Double board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Thomas has authored numerous publications and spoken at conferences nationwide.

William J. Gallagher, MD
Dr. William Gallagher is a fellowship-trained, board-certified sports medicine specialist at Alliance Orthopedics. He is dedicated to providing exceptional care for athletes and active individuals of all ages.
Dr. Gallagher earned his master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, followed by a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Hoboken University Medical Center and a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, where he worked with Penn State teams and the State College Spikes.
Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Gallagher also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries, overuse conditions, concussions, non-surgical fractures, and injury prevention. He uses advanced, non-surgical treatments like ultrasound-guided injections, PRP therapy, and prolotherapy to help patients avoid surgery.
An Associate Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, Dr. Gallagher is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He also serves as team physician for several local high schools and has extensive experience working with athletes at all levels.

Alliance Orthopedic has made a significant improvement in my body and mind to have a healthy recovery postpartum. I have felt amazing with the treatment and care, compared to previous institutions. Their holistic approach involves treatment from specialized doctors, physical therapy, and occupational therapy all combined to achieve a prompt, steady, and long-term pain free life. All staff is kind, caring, knowledgeably, optimistic, and well organized always listening and treating patients with respect.
