I must admit that my tenure as a patient of Dr. Iorgulescu began with some trepidation. Madalina took over her Summit practice when Dr. Grezlak retired. At this point I was in the middle of my treatment plan for implants with Dr. Grezlak. This is a very invasive and lengthy process; because it was my two front teeth, it was of the utmost importance that not only the functionality but also the aesthetics of the procedure go perfectly. I had built up a report with Dr. Grezlak over several months and was confident that my treatment plan was ideal. So as you can imagine, when I was informed of his retirement I had some reservations.
After one visit with Dr. Iorgulescu, all of those reservations quickly faded away. We began to discuss the treatment plan that I had made with Dr. Grezlak and it became apparent that Dr. Iorgulescu was as dedicated to the success of this plan as Dr. Grezlak. From my first visit, Dr. Iorgulescu proposed improvements to my treatment plan and made me feel more comfortable than any of my previous dentists (which is saying something considering I’ve seen more than 10 different dentists through this ordeal).
From there it was smooth sailing. Madalina took every possible measure to ensure my maximum comfort through a lengthy set of procedures. Beyond her concern for my comfort, her dental expertise shined bright during this time. She consistently questioned and corrected the oversights of my previous dentists. My initial trepidation had given way to the utmost respect and admiration. This operation would certainly have a profound effect on my life for years to come, and I felt confident that Madalina was doing everything in her power to ensure its success.
Needless to say, at the conclusion of my treatment I was more than satisfied. I had become used to a lackluster level of treatment for years and Dr. Iorgulescu gave me an entirely new appreciation for dentists and their role in our lives. Never before had a dentist impressed upon me such genuine care and concern. Paired with her sheer brilliance in practice, I can safely say this was the most fulfilling string of dental operations I could have asked for.
Dr. Iorgulescu, I cannot thank you enough and it makes me smile even brighter to think that you will give this level of satisfaction to your patients for years to come.
I was the only one in my immediate family who didn’t have dentures by age 43. I didn’t inherit genes for strong teeth, nor had fluoride in the water, toothpaste, or vitamins when young. We weren’t taught to floss our teeth; and went to the dentist only when we had a toothache (cavity). I was what you would call “a white knuckle” patient – I dreaded going to the dentist. I knew that it would always hurt, and it would be the first of many subsequent appointments. I became responsible for my dental care when I became an adult since I didn’t want to end up like my siblings and parents with full dentures.
Despite routine dental exams, and even periodontic treatment, I ended up with several implants and crowns. I never smiled for family photos because my mouth looked like “Chiclets” of varying shades of white-gray. But I didn’t want dentures and thought I had to live with what I had. I discovered that not all of my earlier dentists were qualified for work that they performed – and it showed. However, I accept responsibility for sometimes being too busy to floss daily… too busy! Sound familiar?
I embarked on a serious search for a dental expert best suited for my needs after oral surgery was indicated for another implant that required a sinus lift. How could it be that as soon as one treatment plan was completed, another one needed to be initiated? I didn’t want to lose any more teeth and didn’t want dental surgery. The sinus lift was too much – I had to find someone who could help me once and for all. My search brought me to Dr. Madalina Iorgulescu, a Board Certified Prosthodontist. I didn’t know what a prosthodontist was – none of my previous dentists ever referred me to one.
According to Dr. Iorgulescu’s website, “Prosthodontists are highly trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating complex dental conditions, specializing in the diagnosis, restoration, and replacement of missing teeth and are dedicated to the highest standard of care. Prosthodontists restore oral function through the placement of restorations or prostheses (dentures, crowns, implants, etc.).” This was clearly someone with more expertise than a regular dentist or someone who does cosmetic dentistry.
After a comprehensive exam, Dr. Iorgulescu worked up a treatment plan that offered me several options. She provided detailed explanations that allowed me to make an informed decision that I felt comfortable about. She showed me photos of “before and after” restorations that she had done…and they were awesome. She understood my frustration and put me at ease without making me feel obligated to initiate treatment. My goal was threefold: 1) Do the least amount possible at a reasonable cost, 2) Complete treatment as quickly as possible, and 3) Avoid any “re-do’s (now or later) – get it right the first time by having someone with the right expertise perform the complicated tasks.
I can honestly say that I have never experienced pain in her chair (white knuckle syndrome gone). She has always been conscious of my comfort from our initial meeting. She was always on time for my appointments since she respects her patient’s time as much as she expects them to respect hers. I can honestly say that my goals were fully met: My treatment was comprehensive and didn’t include unnecessary work (I never had that sinus lift). My treatment plan was completed in the least amount of time possible at the best possible price (I compared other dentist fees). I’m confident that my restorations should last a lifetime (no re-do’s) providing that I maintain a daily regimen of brushing and flossing along with routine dental exams and professional prophys.
Dr. Iorgulescu’s dental restorations are so natural that everyone thinks they are my own teeth.
My bite is excellent and I eat anything I want including steak. Whereas, most people return for several adjustments after partial or complete dentures to get the proper fit, my partial denture fits like a glove and has never required even one adjustment. My crowns fit and look so much better than what I had – no more “Chiclets.” Furthermore, I never worry about having a “failed” implant because of her expertise. Dr. Iorgulescu is a “perfectionist” who won’t send you on your way until you and she are 100% satisfied. I should mention that consulting dentists have remarked that “they have never seen such amazing veneers and crowns” and ask for Dr. Iorgulescu’s name for their patient restorations. I learned that many periodontists, endodontists, oral surgeons, orthodontists and dentists in the Morristown and Summit area call upon Dr. Iorgulescu in order to provide the best of care for their patients. They have seen her work and know a good thing when they see it.
I should also mention that an elderly friend, 102 years of age (much older than I), was long-overdue for a professional cleaning because her periodontist didn’t think he could do it due to her age. I brought her to Dr. Iorgulescu who, put her at ease and, completed an exam, x-rays and prophy without any problem. Dr. Iorgulescu even scheduled her during her lunch hour for the convenience of the patient. My friend returned for a realigning of her upper denture (not done in 17 years) also without difficulty. My friend now chews without food getting stuck under her denture, and is so happy. Her mouth feels much cleaner (and her breath is much better). Her family no longer worries about cavities that could cause serious infection. Evidently, several elderly patients can now chew regular food instead of mashing everything up thanks to Dr. Iorgulescu.
I am so happy with my dental restorations and expect to keep them forever. I keep a maintenance schedule of routine exams and prophys with Dr. Iorgulescu so that she can pick up anything at an early stage in order to avoid future major work and additional expense. I didn’t know that cavities can develop in the tooth below a crown so I’m now “vigilant” about brushing and flossing daily. No more excuses about being too busy to floss.
I can honestly state that Dr. Madalina Iorgulescu is the best dental professional I have ever known – she has always had my interest at heart. She is my “forever” dentist! My mouth feels healthy, my teeth look perfectly natural, my bite is terrific, and I face the future knowing that my days of repeated dental work is over. I even smile in photos now.
I highly recommend Dr. Madalina Iorgulescu to anyone who is thinking about dental restorations, implants, crowns, veneers, partial or full dentures, or whatever else she does. Whether it is an initial consultation or a second opinion, she will give you an honest professional opinion with your best interest in mind. Her work speaks for itself. I am only one of her satisfied patients. You will find her to be ethical and 100% trustworthy. I give her permission to show you my before and after photos. I know you will be just as satisfied.
