    Dr. Indrani Hightower

Dr. Indrani S. Hightower is a board certified neurologist and neurophysiologist at the South Jersey MS Center where she specializes in the comprehensive management and study of multiple sclerosis. She is part of a group of neurologists, and specialized nurses with special training in the management and treatment of multiple sclerosis. The South Jersey MS Center is the largest private infusion suite dedicated to offering both urgent care for multiple sclerosis, as well as preventative disease modulatory therapies. Dr. Hightower is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as board certified in Clinical Neurophysiology. In addition to management of Multiple Sclerosis, she also treats Headaches, Epilepsy, Peripheral Nerve Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Dr. Indrani S. Hightower was born in Jersey City. She is the daughter of first generation Bengali immigrants to this country. Initially when her parents came to this country, the family struggled financially. However her father, who was a graduate of the Bengal Engineering College and Stevens Institute eventually established his own designing engineering company in Edison. He instilled in Indrani the importance of hard work, dedication, and the importance of being compassionate. Her parents believed that she could achieve whatever she wished to do through determination and perseverance, and overcome all obstacles. During medical school, her choice to study Neurology came from losing her beloved mother-in-law in 1999 to a fatal brain tumor. Dr. Hightower loved her mother in law dearly, who was a vibrant woman. She was full of joy, and love. She had a witty sense of humor and had raised two children by herself with great inner strength. While taking care of her mother-in-law during her illness, Dr. Hightower watched her mother-in-law lose her most precious gifts one by one – her amazing personality, her humor, and her ability to laugh. At that point Dr. Hightower became determined to understand the brain and restore as much function as possible, to combat neurodegenerative diseases, and dedicated her career to studying what she felt was the most intricate, complex and beautiful organ of all – the human brain.

  • Awesome doctors, great nurses and staff. Always very helpful and kind. All of our questions and concerns are always answered and they never made us feel uncomfortable.

I highly recommend MS Center of South Jersey where I receive complete care for my whole body and disease.

I have never met a physician who listens to me with such empathy. She goes above and beyond taking care of my neurologic disease, and answers questions which touch upon other fields of medicine. She loves to teach, and always delivers compassionate care.

Best doctor’s office I have been to in year. I actually moved 40 minutes further away from the office and still continue to come here because Dr. Hightower has changed my life. Not to mention the entire staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help anyway they can.

Dr. Hightower is a very compassionate doctor, who always answers my questions to the best of her knowledge. She has called me back on evening and weekends, when I was feeling to ill, to make sure that I was feeling ok
