Raymond A. Adelizzi, DO
Dr. Adelizzi, a Board-certified Rheumatologist and Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, has now been in practice for over 30 years after having received has Rheumatology Fellowship training at Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Rowan University/SOM in Stratford, NJ.

One of Dr. Adelizzi’s areas of expertise, for which he has been active at both the local and national level, has been the treatment of Arthritis, especially the use of nonsteriodal anti-inflammatory agents and more recently use of biologic agents. He has lectured frequently on this and related topics, has written several medical articles on the topic, and has participated in many clinical drug trials (mostly NSAIDS) since 1982.
Dr. Adelizzi has also over the last several years come to be recognized as a regional expert in the diagnosis and treatment of Osteoporosis. He has attended many NIH conferences and other national meetings on theis topic and has also lectured often on this topic. He has served on the Osteoporosis Coalition for the New Jersey Dept. of Health and was the lead author for a NJDOH publication on Osteoporosis. He was the founder and Director for many years of the first self-help group for osteoporosis in the country, the NJ Osteoporosis Society.
A third clinical area in which Doctor Adelizzi has had special interest in and has acquired expertise is the diagnosis and treatment of Systemic Lupus. He has served on the Board of Directors and previously as President of the Lupus Foundation of America – South Jersey Chapter for many years. Lastly, and more recently, he has also become a regional lecturer on Gout.
