Melissa Mascaro M.D., CAQSM
Melissa Mascaro, M.D. completed her fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at University of Connecticut. She served as team physician assisting with the coverage of the University of Connecticut athletics. She covered the UConn Huskies National Championship Women’s Basketball Team as well as the UConn Men’s Basketball Team. She has also provided coverage for various events including MMA Fighting, freestyle ski jump competitions, Lake Placid Ironman, NYC Marathon, 2013 Boston Marathon, and Big East Soccer Tournaments and many other events.
Dr. Mascaro has worked in private practice locally helping to develop primary care sports medicine in the community. With the constantly changing health care models, she believes patients deserve individualized, flexible care designed to fit their schedule. This sometimes means virtual visits, prolonged visits, email and phone access, annual physicals, and comprehensive wellness and evaluations plans for the athletic season. With this in mind, she has entered private practice to focus on helping her patients meet their underlying goal of achieving competitive excellence.
